KEILIR - PESTLE AND MORTAR

Designed for Gilda’s inaugural collection, Keilir is a sculptural pestle and mortar developed in response to Richard Serra’s verb list, with the concept rooted in the word friction.

Named after one of Iceland’s most recognisable cone-shaped mountains, the object balances utility and symbolism through its dual-form geometry.

The pestle sits precisely atop the mortar when not in use, allowing the object to function as both kitchen tool and sculptural tabletop piece.
